Abstract
|

|
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of patient’s self-selecting and performing tasks through task-oriented training on patient’s quality of life, daily activities, and treatment satisfaction.
Method: The subjects of this study were 3,392 elderly people who aged 65 years or older in the 10th Korea Welfare Panel data (2015). The independent variables was the use of social services. The mediator were depression and self-esteem of elderly.
Result: The use of social service effects on self-esteem and life satisfaction of elderly positively.
One the other hand, the use of social service effects on depression negatively. The higher the depression, the more effects negatively on life satisfaction and self-esteem of elderly. The use of social services affected life satisfaction indirectly by mediating depression and self-esteem.
Conclusion: It is necessary to develop intervention program for not improving life satisfaction but also reducing depression level of elderly. This study has some limitations because it is analyzed using secondary data. Although, this study could provide foundation for improving life satisfaction of elderly.
